Field Lacrosse Day in HRM - Saturday, July 26th

Field Lacrosse is growing in Nova Scotia, and with so much success of the game the Nova Scotia Provincial Field Lacrosse teams are celebrating all the success with a full day of activities this Saturday, July 26th! For more information click 'Read More'

Field Lacrosse is growing in the Maritimes beyond Nova Scotia and with so much success of the game the Nova Scotia Provincial Field Lacrosse teams are celebrating all the success with a full day of activities. Our NS teams will be heading to Edmonton, Alberta on Labour Day weekend to compete at the National Championships

On Saturday July 26th the Celebration will begin at noon when a select team from PEI travels to Wanderers Grounds in Halifax to take on the 2014 Nova Scotia U16 Team.  This will be the first time in history that Nova Scotia faces off against PEI, which is the beginning of a maritime rivalry.  The Nova Scotia U16 Provincial Team has many new faces as most of last years bronze medal-winning team moved on to the U19 team.

Following the NS U16 vs. PEI game the Nova Scotia U19 Provincial team will take on the NS senior team (2pm) in the start of their road to nationals.  This year’s Nova Scotia U19 team features three players dressing for Nova Scotia after playing a year state side.  Luke Smeltzer (Gunnery), Jerome Glowacki (Christ) and Cole Davis (Christ), will be back on the field in Nova Scotia for the first time since completing their prep school season.  This is a great opportunity for youth player’s to see the potential field lacrosse has in schooling,

This is a day of Celebration so two games is just not enough lacrosse for everyone.  PEI and Nova Scotia U16 team (4pm) will take to the field again to see if they can out do the first battle.   For anyone that has been involved with sport, the second time around can always get more heated, so expect a hard nose, physical battle between the two teams.

After all the games are completed it your chance to come out on the field with a NSFLL Try Lacrosse event from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.  Youth will have an opportunity to interact with many of the Nova Scotia provincial players, and bring along the future provincial players of this province.  Registration for the NSFLL season will also be available on site, so get in early.  A day filled with lacrosse, prizes, and entertainment, a great way to celebrate Canada’s National Summer Sport.
